In January of 2003, Dr. Kucho!, after a long and recognized musical career, releasing his tracks on a large number of labels (Weekend, Virgin, Sony, Defected…), and seeing the amazing success of the track “Belmondo Rulez” in Malta, decided to give a second chance to this tune re-releasing it, after some little modifications, with the name “Belmondo Rulez 2.0″ as first release (on vinyl) of his new record label: Disc Doctor Records.

This was a strong beginning for this little new Spanish label. Vocal version, even with video clip, was done, it was remixed by Bob Sinclar, included in the most important compilations of the moment, played in the radios, clubs… and reviewed and charted by the most important magazines and djs, becoming number 6 of best tracks of the year by DJ magazine UK 2003.

During next years the label always had successful tracks like the ones by Dr. Kucho! “Lies To Yourself”, an anthem in Holland, “Holy Spirit”, “Groover’s Delight”, the re-releasing of “Patricia Never Leaves The House”, “Green planet”, “The Rave”, “Mogambos 2010″, “Getting Better”, “La Isla”, Dr. Kucho! & Hannah “The Island Of Love”, “All Day All Night, Dr. Kucho! feat. Aris “Doing Better Without You”, “Belmondo Rulez” (with remixes from international contest)…

Disc Doctor Records is always open to new talents, releasing works from other producers, not only Dr. Kucho!’s, as Mario Ochoa, Dario Nuñez & David Vio, Carlos Gallardo, Sal Basile, Funky Truckerz, Lucas Reyes, Dj Kone & Marc Palacios, Martin Wright, Dembora, Gabi Newman, Julian Poker… and successful collaborations between Dr. Kucho! and other artists like Gregor Salto, with “Can’t Stop Playing”; Pedro del Moral, “Rain (I want a divorce)”; Angel Sánchez “Obvious”; or Zenbi “Échale Candela”.

In 2005, the label started to sell its catalogue on the online music store Beatport, and later on Traxource, Junodownload, iTunes, etc. Finally, in 2007, the label stopped manufacturing vinyls, due to the change of the market, that made the process of releasing a track cheaper and much more easy. Therefore, the production of the label increased till a reasonable place where quality and quantity of the tunes are balanced, reaching the amount of 77 releases in 10 years (2003-2013).

After the support of Ferry Corsten, Markus Schulz, Armin van Buuren, Sander van Doorn, and the awesome feedback of all trance family around the world on Dr Kucho!’s previous tracks “To Russia With Love” and “Hale Bopp”, in 2013 he decided to make his first album, “The Return Of The King”, which is a tribute to the real progressive/trance music that makes your mind travel away by telling a story rather than filling the spectrum with noisy sounds.

This style, progressive house (the real one, not the beatport’s) and melodic trance, is far away from Disc Doctor Records’, that’s why Journey Tunes was born. A label that looks not only for good production and the ability of a track to make people dance, but also for the power of make you feel something special by reading the score. This basically means two things: melody and harmony.
